So rooms, there are 4 bedrooms to this place: master bedroom with king, 2nd room with paired stacked single bunk beds, 3rd has 2 double beds and the 4th room, located in the basement has a double bed and 2, single bunk beds. Each room has a combination of electric and gas-powered lighting. All electric lighting runs on 15-minute timer switches so you won’t accidentally waste up battery power.

The kitchen is HUGE with a Garland 6, burner stove/oven and large grill which was awesome for burgers, eggs, etc. There’s plenty of counter space, a prep island and 3 sinks. In an adjacent room, you’ll access 2 HUGE refrigerator/freezers. There are plenty of dishes, cooking pots and pans and coffee maker. Tgere’s Even a stainless steel dishwasher. Note that kitchen only has 2 power plugs that draw from the solar battery reserves. There’s a propane BBQ just outside, but didn’t use as it’s winter. There isn’t a microwave but did notice a toaster.

Kenauk was very smart by having board games which our family had a great time playing in the evening.

The Pines. This 14-person cottage was the PERFECT CHOICE for our family weekender. It’s secluded and surrounded by hills and the river wraps around the back of the property. It’s so close you can easily hear the water rushing by. The only neighbour you have are the people you came along with.

Our first cabin experience when we settled in Canada. If it was hard to book and expensive it was worthy. It’s cozy and comfy but cabin spirit (no electricity there but all the comfort tou need nevertheless!

We saw 3 bucks, but did not bag any which was okay. We had an amazing guide, Joel who really helped us out as this was our first hunting trip.

There are 4 bathrooms in this place, one of them being for common use and the others for the bedrooms.

So we chose to have out stay in the cold weeekend month of January. Repeatin* what many will say, there’s both no hydro service nor internet access unless you have your mobile phone, but that’s spotty service at best. The cottage has plentiful access to a wood shed so that made keeping the living room fireplace stocked. There are propane lamps everywhere which gave the main rooms a cozy and warm glow.

My *ONLY* complaint? The heating unit in the living room is INSANELY annoying as when it turned on at night (say every hour or so), it created a REALLY loud and earpearcing screech, lasting about 10 seconds. For a few of us, it was loud to wake us a few times at night.

Location - secluded, spectacular. Chalet - fully equipped, cosy, beautifully furnished, comfortable. If you like peace and quiet and being close to nature, away from "it all" then this is the place to go. Gas lights and no electricity and probably no internet.
